Author, Counselor and Educator
Prior to entering academia, I served in the military and worked in the information systems industry for over a decade. My background includes masters degrees in business and counseling psychology, a doctorate focusing on information systems, educational research and statistics and extensive post-graduate work in qualitative research methods.
I teach quantitative and qualitative research methodology, program evaluation and statistics to students in an information systems doctoral programs. I am the author of over 130 journal articles, conference presentations, book chapters and the highly successful Statistics Translated: A Step-by-Step Guide to Analyzing and Interpreting Data and Writing a Proposal for Your Dissertation: Guidelines and Examples.
Currently I serve on the editorial boards of The Qualitative Report, the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE) and served for over 10 years as the Statistical Editor for the Internet and Higher Education. I belong to the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and I am the chair of the Online Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association.
